This day-long sympos ium will contlnue the interchange , now a hundred years old, between lu ng’ s Western app roach to
consciousness and those of Asian cultures. O ur featured speaker, Dr. M urray Ste in, wi ll trace the influence of Eastern
philosophies and spiritual practices o n lu ng’s psyc hology as well as on the cu rrent and growing interest in l ung’ s
psychology through out Asia. T he significance of this intercultural co nversa tion will be further enriched by the
presen tati ons of Elaine Molch ano v, Denni s Merritt and Ashok Bed i who will ex plore the per son al, psychoanalytic and
spiritual implications of the dialogue.

All speakers and symposium participants arc invited to join the celebratory Founders Community Dinner at no additional
cost. As (he seminar comes to a close we will have a wine and cheese reception followed by a light buffet dinner to
honor founding member Murray Stein. Throughout the symposium we will host a silent auction; participants arc invited
and encouraged to bid throughout the day. Winning hids will be announced during the community dinner. All proceeds
from the auction will directly support the continued development of educational programming and community outreach
at the CO Jung Institute of Chicago. The CG lung Institute of Chicago is approved by the Amer ican Psychological Association to sponsorcontinuing education credits for psychologists.
