Resilience-Analytical & Neuroscience Perspective – Saturday, March 14, 2015 8 AM-4 PM

Resilience refers to a class of phenomena characterized by good outcomes in spite of serious threats to adaptation or development. Between the shores of illness & wellness lies the flow of the healing zone. This Neuroplastic zone has transformative properties for our mind, body and relationships. The presentation will start with a Resilience Assessment Test offered to the participants. Experiential contemplative practices that foster resilience will be demonstrated with opportunity for participants to practice these.



Objectives (at the end of this activity the participants will be able to):

1. Summarize the of converging findings from variable-focused and person-focused investigations of Resilience

2. Examine the Neuroscientific research on Resilience from many different perspectives, particularly in trauma research

3. Discuss the Jungian Analytical perspective on Resilience

4. Utilize the concept of the Transcendent Function to harvest the transformative potential of crisis, trauma and activation of Resilience Response.

5. Practice Contemplative techniques that enhance resilience.
